The Montreal Audio Show (MAS), known as Salon Son Image (SSI) in French, has been bringing audio to the masses for 28 years. The show is usually attended by somewhere between 6,000 and 7,000
people who are interested in music, and want to know how they can get good sound into their homes. Hundreds of brands can be seen and heard in one place. This allows consumers a place to do some one stop shopping, or just look and listen. There are also public presentations on a myriad of topics that have to do with audio in the home, as well as special events.
This year Cary Audio partnered again with Tannoy and Primacoustic. The Tannoy Westminster GR speakers drew crowds just to take pictures with them, and Primacoustic tamed the difficult acoustics of a hotel event room. This allowed Cary Audio to show off the new DMC-600SE Digital Music Center along with the SLP-98L Preamplifier and CAD-120S MkII Amplifier playing in Triode Mode. The sound was magical, and they looked great too! As a special treat, Vincent Bélanger, noted cellist, played a live 15 minute concert in our room each day, with the sound system serving as his orchestra and his CD playing on the DMC-600SE Digital Music Center.
