Model 7.125
power amplifier

Arrow7.125 Specifications

The Model 7.125 amplifier is state of the art, multi-channel amplification built right here in the United States of America. As you can see, each unit starts out life as a bare chassis. A massive toroidal transformer is first bolted to the chassis to provide power for each of the 7 individual amplifier modules. Next, each of these pre-assembled modules are individually installed, one by one, firmly bolted to the chassis and wired up. These modules are composed of the actual amplifier components, heat sink and audio input and output connections.

Here, Monica begins the construction of a Model 7.125 amplifier. At this stage in the process, the chassis is prepped for the transformer, amplifier modules and other parts that will be installed into the unit. The rear panel hardware such as the RCA and XLR connectors as well as the speaker binding posts are also bolted in place. The front panel is then fitted with an LED illuminated Cary Audio Design logo and attached to the main chassis.

Here we see the Model 7.125 entering its final production tests. Each one of our amplifiers are individually inspected and tested by Gerald, Cary Audio’s lead technician, before being placed in “burn-in” for a period of 24 to 48 hours.

Dennis randomly pulls multiple units from each production run to personally test in his lab. After subjecting each amplifier to a battery of performance and reliability tests and inspecting the individual internal components of each unit, he takes them to the “theater room" for the final tests with the best performance and diagnostic gear he knows of; his ears.

Final testing in the home theater room is done with the Model 7.125 connected to Cary Audio Design’s HD home theater processor, the Cinema 11a. Various Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA selections are tested from Blu-ray as well as standard Dolby Digital surround tracks from DVD. The Model 7.125 is also used in a 2-channel configuration for audio tests with CD. After a day or so of testing in the theater room, the 7.125 is sent to the shipping department for final boxing and packaging.

Here Lucas meticulously wraps and packages each Model 7.125 amplifier to be shipped. To prevent any damage during transit, each unit gets packed in an inner box completely supported and surrounded by rigid foam. This first box is then packed in the outer shipper box using more high density foam. It is this care that ensures your Cary Audio Design product will arrive to you in the same condition in which it left our facility.

From start to finish, each step in the production process of a Cary Audio Design product is carried out with the utmost care and concern. From the first bolt to touch the chassis to the last piece of tape on the box, we strive to ensure that you will get as much pleasure and enjoyment out of your Cary Audio Design audio equipment as we have had in building it.
